Not Dead Yet

Apologies for the long delay - I've been away in England for family reasons for the last week, and have thus had no internet connection, since my laptop chose a highly inappropriate time to die. Normal service should resume Wednesday.

For Old Duffer, who asked about why I didn't link to the racism thread mentioned in the last post, that was at the time an oversight on my behalf, but I believe that the thread has now been hidden by the mods, probably because it descended into racist stupidity, and the posts in question have been deleted, so there's little point in linking to it at this juncture. Sorry about that!

WUM of the Month

Before we get into that though, a quick complaint - apparently on 606, the mods have a funny definition of "offensive". Posts of a racist nature were made in a thread and were not removed. However responses made by myself and others calling out the poster on his racism were deleted for "being of an offensive nature". Unbelievable.

Oh, and my profile has been moderated for no good reason. Bastards.

Update on the Situation at 606

The mods have now taken it upon themselves to hide the back-up thread linking to this on 606.

However, I recieved an email, well, the same email SIX times (probably something the BBC should look into) saying the posting was removed for containing an email address. I suppose that's site policy and is actually fair enough, I should apologise for my harsh words earlier. I'll edit the article to no longer contain the address and it should be restored. Hopefully. If it isn't I'll just re-create it without the address.

UPDATE: They've found a new reason. Discussing 606 accounts or moderation on 606 is apparently forbidden, an interesting metaphysical quandry. Since the article itself can be presented to directly mention neither, I'll try one more edit before I repost.

UPDATE 2: Apparently now the article "advertises for profit or gain", which is not allowed. Well, I call bullshit on that one. I don't make money out of this, though I wish I could. This is abuse by the mods, plain and simple and I retract the above apology. Now they are just sraping the barrel to excuse their protecting of the WUMs. Reposting will occur this afternoon, and then the ball is in their court, so come what may.

Bizarre Moderation at 606

This is for anyone who has come to the blog wondering where the 606 thread has gone.

The original thread on 606 about this site has been queued for moderation and may be deleted. Once again, this seems to be the case of the mods defending the WUMs - quite a lot of humour/fun threads get deleted, while I have rarely seen a WUM thread get deleted unless a lot of people complain about it, and even then it usually takes a few days.

Basically, the thread has been accused of "breaching House Rules", although I cannot see how, and have not been informed of how. These are the "House Rules", and I don't see what the thread is doing wrong. I may just have to let it be deleted, wait until my user profile is out of pre-moderation and re-create it.

If the thread is being pulled for "harassment" or "anti-social behaviour", the only two rules I can even see this as being even vaguely close to breaking, then 606 mods, it seems, do not understand the meaning or function of "public domain".

An older thread exists on the Arsenal board, so people can use that temporarily until the situation is resolved.
